Polish President supports ban on Ukrainian grain exports

Andrzej Duda said he supports the Polish government's decision to impose a national ban on the export of Ukrainian agricultural products.

The President of Poland said this on TVP1.

"I believe that it is the right decision of the Polish government to maintain the ban on the sale of Ukrainian grain on the Polish market. On the other hand, everything should be done to facilitate transit," Duda says.

The Polish President has added that Poland has prepared transit corridors in order to "export as much grain as possible to the countries that need it".

It will be recalled that on September 15, the European Commission lifted the ban on imports of Ukrainian agricultural products. In response, Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary imposed embargoes at the national level.

After that, Ukraine filed a lawsuit with the WTO. Later, Poland "threatened" to expand the list of banned products if the Ukrainian authorities did not stop escalating the conflict.

On September 23, the Polish president said that the dispute between Poland and Ukraine over grain imports would not significantly affect good bilateral relations.
