On the morning of February 18, the Russians fired four Kalibr missiles

The Ukrainian military managed to shoot down two of them. The previous time the Russians launched missile strikes was on February 16, indicating fewer breaks between attacks.

The Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the number of missiles shot down.

Two surviving Russian missiles hit Khmelnytskyi, damaging about ten multi-story buildings. Two people were injured, but their lives are not in danger, the mayor of the city, Oleksandr Symchyshyn said during a telethon.

Earlier, Air Force spokesman Yurii Ihnat said the Russians were increasing pressure before the "sacred dates" of February 23-24.

"We are already used to this happening by certain dates. Here you can see that the deadlines are getting tighter. They want it by February 23 — it's their Defender of the Fatherland Day, and the next day is the anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine, which they want to capture. So perhaps they are shortening the timing of the shelling to hurt Ukraine the most," he said.
