On January 5, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Vladimir Putin discussed Turkish-Russian relations, as well as regional issues, in particular Russia's war against Ukraine and Syria, in a telephone conversation — the press service of the Turkish President

Erdogan said that the Turkish side wants to complete the roadmap for the creation of a natural gas hub in Turkey as soon as possible.
In addition, Erdogan stressed the importance of further diplomatic dialogue between Ukraine and Russia.
"Recalling witnessing the positive results of the negotiations on the Russian-Ukrainian war in such initiatives as the grain corridor, prisoner exchangeand and safety zone around the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, President Erdoğan said that calls for peace and negotiations should be supported with a unilateral ceasefire and a vision for a fair solution," the press service of the Turkish President writes.
The Presidents also discussed the threat of terrorist organizations PKK/PYD/YPG.
