On December 4, a concert will be held at Carnegie Hall in New York to celebrate the centenary of the premiere of the Christmas carol "Shchedryk"

Choir groups from Ukraine and North America will take part in the "Notes from Ukraine" concert, and opera singer Janai Brugger and folk singer Marichka Marchyk will be special guests. In addition, there will be the premiere of the song to the words of Serhii Zhadan, created by Trevor Weston.

"We perceive this year's holiday as a great opportunity to celebrate Ukraine's centuries-old culture and statehood at a time when Russia is trying to destroy them," said the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba.

In 1922, the concert at Carnegie Hall was a part of the first project of Ukrainian cultural diplomacy — the world tour of the Ukrainian Republic Capella. The Capella was sent abroad on the initiative of the Ukrainian People's Republic's government to promote Ukrainian independence in Europe and America and counter Russian propaganda.

Part of the proceeds from the sale of tickets will be directed to "Rebuild Ukraine" through United24.
