Morocco is hit by a sandstorm

Morocco, in northern Africa, has been hit by a sandstorm. The powerful winds caused damage to buildings and infrastructure. 

This was reported by Morocco World News.

According to the General Directorate of Meteorology, the sandstorm was accompanied by ferocious gusts of wind that reached a high speed of 80 kilometres per hour.

The storm hit the tourist centre of Morocco, Marrakech.

An 18-year-old young man lost his life after a tree fell on him.

Another person was injured after being hit by a massive wheel.
