Moldova expels 18 diplomats from Russian Embassy in Chisinau
Moldova is expelling 18 diplomats and 27 technical staff members from the Russian Embassy in Chișinău. Ten diplomats and 15 technical staff will remain there.
This was announced by the adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova on communications Ihor Zakharov, reports NewsMaker.
Earlier, investigative journalists found that Russians had installed at least 28 special antennas at their diplomatic missions in Moldova.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs threatened a "response".
"We regard [the expulsion of diplomats] as unreasonable and unfriendly actions that will not remain unanswered. This is another step in the destruction of bilateral relations by the Chișinău regime," Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
