Lithuania customs authorities implement sanction requirements for vehicles registered in Russia

The Lithuanian Customs Service has published an order requiring the removal of vehicles with Russian registration within six months of arrival.

This was reported by the press service of the Lithuanian customs.

The order applies to those who entered the EU before the September 11 entry ban. In case of violation, the country's authorities will confiscate vehicles.

The list of vehicles includes cars, campers and minibuses with up to 10 passenger seats. Lithuanian customs authorities also warn citizens against buying and importing cars registered in Russia or of Russian origin.

The order does not apply to drivers travelling in transit to Kaliningrad, Russia. They can stay in the country for no more than 24 hours.

It will be recalled that the Baltic states banned entry for cars with Russian registration in September. They were joined by Poland and Finland.
