The judge, at the request of his lawyer friend, wanted to bribe another judge with whom he works in the same court.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine reported this.
In the spring of 2023, a serviceman turned to a lawyer to represent him in an administrative case in court. The lawyer offered to bribe the judge and demanded $2000 from the serviceman. The serviceman filmed the money transfer on a hidden camera. In June 2023, law enforcement officers served the lawyer with a notice of suspicion.
The lawyer did not know the judge who was to hear his client's case. So he turned to a friend of his, a judge who worked in the same court. The man agreed to help with the bribery. Now law enforcement officers have issued a notice of suspicion to him. The judge faces up to eight years in prison.
