Latvia will not confiscate Russian cars if they are already in the EU
The Latvian Tax Service has announced that Latvia will not confiscate cars with Russian licence plates currently in the European Union.
This was reported by the BBC News Russian.
"The ban on cars with Russian licence plates applies only to border crossings, it does not apply to vehicles registered in the territory of the Russian Federation that are in the EU," the Latvian Tax Service said.
Russians will not have their personal belongings confiscated when crossing the border.
Importation of personal belongings for Russian citizens may be prohibited only in case of importation of a large number of items that arouse suspicions of Latvian border guards.
It will be recalled that on September 13, the Baltic States banned entry for cars with Russian license plates.
