Joe Biden and Donald Trump receive the necessary number of votes in the primaries to go to the elections

United States, (Svidomi) — President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump have received the required number of votes in the primaries to go on to the election.

Biden needed 1968 delegates to win the nomination. That number was reached on Tuesday night as results from the Georgia primary began to come in, ahead of expected results from Mississippi, Washington state, the Northern Mariana Islands and Democrats living abroad, according to Edison Research.

"Voters now have a choice to make about the future of this country. Are we going to stand up and defend our democracy or let others tear it down? Will we restore the right to choose and protect our freedoms or let extremists take them away?" Biden commented on the results.

At the same time, the Republican primaries were held in four states: Georgia, Hawaii, Mississippi, and Washington. In Washington, Trump received the 1,215 delegates needed to be nominated for the Republican presidential nomination.
