It is the first time Ukraine has headed the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources — the Minister of Education and Science, Serhii Shkarlet

It is planned to involve the Ukrainian research vessel Noosphera for environmental, oceanological and biological research in Antarctic waters.
