In the temporarily occupied Mariupol, Donetsk region, only Russian citizens allegedly receive compensation for the cost of lost housing
The Russians are allegedly compensating only those Mariupol residents who have Russian citizenship for their lost housing.
Representatives of the occupation authorities in the Donetsk region have published a resolution with new rules for the so-called "compensation".
This was reported by the press service of the Mariupol City Council.
In particular, the document states that each citizen will be able to receive compensation for only one house, even if the person has lost more than one.
If the owners of the house do not rebuild it within ten years, the territory will become the property of the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic".
The city council also reports that plans are being developed for new buildings in the city, with apartments to be sold as mortgages, which local residents do not have the means to afford.
"The owners of the destroyed houses are offered to buy their homes. So all compensation remains only in words and in staged stories," the city council added.
