In Crimea and the Russian Federation, Russians began to create Kurchatov classes on the basis of schools in honor of physicist Igor Kurchatov, who is considered the "father" of the Soviet atomic bomb

This is reported by the Telegram channel "Crimea - the land of partisan glory".

Activists of the channel claim that these militaristic and allegedly scientific biases in the educational program "are aimed at preparing the younger generation for the worst, to put it mildly."

"Why were the classes with an additional program for studying chemistry, physics and biology called 'Kurchatov classes', or was there no other famous scientist to name them after? It's a rhetorical question, of course, but Kurchatov is considered the "father" of the Soviet atomic bomb," the statement reads.

The order to create Kurchatov classes was brought to schools in 2021. But it was during this school year that they began to be actively formed in Crimea.

Thus, in early 2023, Simferopol Gymnasium No. 30 organized a New Year's celebration with a militarized bias.

"This school is one of the most aggressive and paramilitary in Simferopol, and it is headed by a well-known chauvinist Yuriy Oleksiyovych Polyakov, who, as deputy headmaster, organizes so-called "patriotic" events with the participation of the racist occupiers," the Telegram channel wrote.
