ICEYE satellite, purchased for donations of Ukrainians, helped to detect and destroy over seven thousand units of Russian equipment — the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine

Ukraine's military intelligence began using the "people's satellite" on September 24, 2022. Since then, the Security and Defence Forces have received the necessary intelligence from space daily.

In the five months of using ICEYE, the Ukrainian military has conducted space-based radar reconnaissance of nearly 1,000 areas where Russian army units are located.

The spacecraft's resources allowed to detect 360 tents in the locations of Russian troops, as well as 7321 objects of Russian military and special equipment, including

45 aeroplanes

27 helicopters;

6 Iskander air defence systems;

36 S-300 AIR DEFENCE SYSTEMS;

12 "Pantsir S1" air defence systems

11 radar stations;

10 pontoon crossings.

Much of this list was destroyed.

In the summer, Ukrainians raised over 600 million hryvnias to buy Bayraktar TB2 drones. The charity fundraiser was initiated by the Serhiy Prytula Foundation and the author of the Lachen Pyshe channel, Ihor Lachenkov.

The drone manufacturer Baykar announced that it would donate the UAVs to Ukraine free of charge. The funds raised were used to purchase a satellite and access the data from the ICEYE satellite constellation.
