Hungary proposes to split €50bn EU aid package for Ukraine into two payments — Bloomberg
Hungary has proposed to split the EU's €50 billion aid package to Ukraine into two parts.
Bloomberg reported this, citing its sources.
Hungary allegedly told EU member states that €25 billion would be enough for Ukraine at this stage.
"Prime Minister Viktor Orban's government has cited a range of issues, including its own inability to access crucial EU funds due to the rule of law and corruption concerns and what it says is its neighbor's (Ukraine — ed.) mistreatment of its ethnic-Hungarian minority population," the journalists said.
It will be recalled that on October 3, the EU adopted a resolution to provide financial support to Ukraine in 2024-2027.
