Hungary is allegedly exempt from the application of restrictions on Russian oil prices, but there is no exception in the EU decision
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó says that in this way during the negotiations it was possible to protect the security of Hungary's energy supply. According to Szijjarto, it is necessary to increase the amount of energy carriers, which would reduce prices, and measures to limit the price only harm the European economy.
However, the final EU decision published in the Official Journal of the European Union does not contain any exceptions for Hungary.
In general, among the provisions of the document, there are only two exceptions to the restrictions - a transition period of 45 days for oil that will be loaded by December 5 and must arrive by January 19 and a possible environmental incident or natural disaster.
