Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán and Putin meet in Beijing
Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in Beijing.
The Index reports citing Orbán's spokesperson.
The parties discussed Hungarian-Russian cooperation in the areas of gas and oil supplies, as well as nuclear energy.
During the meeting, Orbán "stressed the importance of peace". In his opinion, "it is very important for the whole continent, including Hungary, that the flow of refugees, sanctions, and hostilities stop".
The Hungarian prime minister said that Budapest "never wanted to confront Russia; on the contrary, Hungary's goal was to build and expand relations".
At the same time, Putin said that relations between Russia and Hungary "will be maintained and developed".
