Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó arrived on a visit to Belarus

He announced this on his Facebook page.

There, he promises "to promote the idea of peace in Ukraine."

"I will represent this peace position at today's negotiations in Minsk. Obviously, many will attack me because of the visit, but our position is clear: the communication channels must be kept open. If we didn’t act like this, I wouldn’t be able to deliver the call for peace today either," Szijjártó said.

According to him, Hungary expects all members of the international community to act in the interests of peace and to avoid any steps that risk prolonging or escalating the war.
