Hospitals in temporarily occupied Mariupol have no children's wards
Hospitals in the temporarily occupied city of Mariupol do not have a single children's department where young patients can receive help.
This was reported by the Mariupol City Council.
Residents of the city complain about the lack of places to treat children. In case of acute conditions, they have to be taken to Donetsk.
"In Mariupol, we created (before the full-scale invasion - ed.) modern children's outpatient clinics, opened a Children's Consultative and Diagnostic Polyclinic and a children's regional infectious disease centre. Modern equipment was installed everywhere. The occupiers destroyed more than half of the hospitals and took away the surviving equipment. Now there is no place to treat children," said Vadym Boichenko.
It will be recalled that fewer than 15,000 children attend schools in the temporarily occupied Mariupol. Before the occupation, there were over 40,000 students in Mariupol.
