Head of RMA: Russian troops do not give up attempts to capture Avdiivka

Russian troops are not giving up their attempts to capture Avdiivka in the Donetsk region.

This was stated by the head of the city's military administration, Vitalii Barabash, during a national telethon.

According to him, the so-called " ceasefire" was temporary. Since October 18, there has been a reverse escalation near Avdiivka.

"The number of attacks on the territory of the community has increased, the number of air strikes has increased not only on ours but also on the neighbouring Ocheretynska community," said Barabash.

According to him, approximately 1,600 people remain in the settlement.

"The evacuation is slowly continuing: yesterday (18 October – Ed.) we evacuated four people, and the day before yesterday, nine. I hope that the circumstances will force people to approve the decision to evacuate a little bit," added the head of the RMA.

Due to the escalation of the situation, no humanitarian aid is being delivered to Avdiivka, but the city has reserves of water, medicine, and food.
