Germany to allocate €195 million to support Ukraine's energy and business sectors
The German government will allocate €195 million to support the energy sector and enterprises in Ukraine.
This was reported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
Germany will allocate about half of the funds to help protect and repair Ukraine's energy infrastructure. The other half will be used to strengthen Ukrainian businesses.
This is why support will be provided to Ukraine's electricity supplier Ukrenergo.
"Heat and electricity are key to the resilience of people in Ukraine, especially with the winter ahead. That is why we are increasing our support for Ukraine's critical energy infrastructure. The Ukrainian government has committed itself to a reconstruction programme that will make the country more resilient and bring it closer to the European Union," said Minister Svenja Schulze.
