Germany refused to host the World Cup in fencing due to the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate — a statement on the association's website.

The competition was scheduled for the first weekend of May.

"As before, our solidarity is with the people in Ukraine who are suffering from the war of aggression," the statement reads.

On March 10, at the International Fencing Federation Congress, more than 60% of countries voted in favor of allowing Russians and Belarusians to participate in the July World Fencing Championships in Milan.
