Five people are missing after Russian strike on a high-rise building in Dnipro
On June 28, Russian troops shelled the territory of 13 regions of Ukraine. The Russian army attacked 110 settlements and 129 infrastructure facilities.
At night, Russians attacked Ukraine with ten Shahed-131/136 combat drones. Air defence forces shot down all the drones within the Mykolaiv, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy and Vinnytsia regions.
In the Dnipro city, Russians struck a nine-storey building. One person was killed, and 12 were injured in the attack. Among the wounded were a pregnant woman and a seven-month-old baby. Rescuers spent the night clearing the rubble. According to police, five people are missing.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region in southcentral Ukraine, Russians attacked Nikopol and the communities of Pokrovsk, Myrove, and Chervonohryhorivka. Two people were injured. Apartment blocks, private houses, two lyceums, an administrative building, a religious institution, and a power line were damaged.
In the Donetsk region, which has been partially occupied since 2014 and is located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine, Russians hit the village of New York with two KAB bombs and artillery. Four civilians were killed, and five others were injured. Among the victims is a girl born in 2015. A private house and three apartment blocks were destroyed. Another person was wounded in Zarichne. Russians shelled Lyman and the villages of Zarichne, Kurakhivka, New York, Katerynivka, Mykolaivka, Sontsivka and Yasnobrodivka. Twelve residential buildings, administrative buildings, a shop, an educational institution and a church were damaged.
In the Kherson region in the south of Ukraine, which has been partially occupied since 2022, four people were killed, and ten others were injured as a result of Russian aggression. A multi-storey building and 22 private houses, shops and a gas pipeline were damaged. Twenty-three settlements came under fire. In the morning, Russian troops shelled Naddniprianske, wounding two people. In Beryslav, Russians dropped explosives on a street. A man was killed.
In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, eight people were injured after the guided aerial bombs were dropped on the village of Tsyrkuny. A business building, a car, and private houses were damaged. A woman died in Varvarivka as a result of correctable aerial bomb shelling. Another person was injured as a result of artillery shelling of the village of Bilyi Kolodiaz.
In the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north, Russians fired 38 times at the border areas and settlements of the Sumy region. The communities of Khotin, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Mykolaivka, Nova Sloboda, Esman, Shalyhyne, Seredyna-Buda, Znob-Novgorod were shelled. A critical infrastructure facility and two private houses were damaged. One civilian was injured in the Znob-Novgorod community.
In the Zaporizhzhia region in the south, which has been partially occupied in the south since 2022, Verbove, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Levadne and Malynivka came under Russian fire. There were four reports of residential buildings being destroyed. No civilians were injured.
In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, Karpovychi, Zarichchia, Yeline, Khrinivka, Mykhalchyna Sloboda and Hremiach were shelled. An outbuilding was damaged in Hremiach.
In the Luhansk region, almost completely occupied by Russia, Nevske was shelled with artillery, mortars, and Grad systems. On June 28, Russians carried out two air strikes near the settlement. Russians also fired artillery and mortar fire at Makiivka, Stelmakhivka and Kuzemivka.
In the Odesa region in the south of Ukraine, the Russian army struck with a ballistic missile with a cluster charge. As a result of the hit, a wheat field caught fire. There was no information on damage or casualties.
In the Mykolaiv region, also in the south of Ukraine, the community of Kutsurub came under artillery fire. There were no casualties.
