Five civilians injured in the Donetsk region by Russian shelling on August 23
In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, the Russian army shelled Kupiansk, Nova Kazacha, Novoosynove, Odnorobivka, Kucherivka, Orishanka, and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi. Private houses, power grids, garages, and outbuildings were damaged. In Orishanka, the shelling destroyed 4 hectares of grass and 8 hectares of forest. In Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, three civilians were injured, and two were killed in the shelling.
In the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine, the Russian army shelled the Pokrovsk, Kramatorsk, and Bakhmut districts. The regional military administration reported that five civilians were injured.
In the Luhansk region, almost completely occupied by Russia, the Russians shelled Nevske and Makiivka. The regional military administration reports no casualties.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region in southcentral Ukraine, the Russians shelled Nikopol and the communities of Myrove, Marhanets, Zelenodolsk, and Pokrovske. Four private houses, a shop, a power line, a greenhouse, and a gas pipeline were damaged. One resident was injured.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, partially occupied in the south since 2022, the Russian army struck 306 times at Orikhiv, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Levadne, Huliaipole, Robotyne, Bilenke, Malynivka, and Preobrazhenka. Seventeen private houses were destroyed. The shelling destroyed a historical monument in Huliaipole — the memorial museum estate of the family of Nestor Makhno. The regional military administration reports no casualties.
In the Mykolaiv region in the south of Ukraine, the Russians fired FPV combat drones at the Kutsurub community. The regional military administration reports no casualties.
In the Kherson region, partially occupied since 2022, the Russians shelled Stanislav, Antonivka, Kizomys, Sadove, Shyroka Balka, Bilozerka, Poniativka, Mykilske, Beryslav, Novoraisk, Mylove, Havrylivka, Zmiivka, and Kherson. Three multi-storey buildings, ten private houses, a gas pipeline, and private cars were damaged. Ten civilians were injured.
In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, the Russians attacked the communities of Semenivka and Novhorod-Siverskyi. The regional military administration reports no casualties.
In the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north, the Russians shelled the communities of Khotin, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Nova Sloboda, Berezivka, Hlukhiv, Esman, Shalyhyne, Svesa, and Druzhba. The regional military administration reported no casualties.
