European Parliament approves road transport facilitation agreement with Ukraine
"As Ukrainian airspace has been closed to civilian traffic and maritime exports are severely restricted, Ukraine needs to find alternative ways of road transport to export its stocks of grain, fuel, food and other relevant goods," the press service of the European Parliament says.
It is noted that Moldova also needs alternative transit routes through the EU and assistance in the transit of Ukrainian goods through its territory.
The new documents will replace the existing transport agreements with the EU countries. In addition, they will temporarily facilitate road freight transport, allowing carriers from Ukraine, Moldova and the EU to transit without special permits.
