EU prolongs personal sanctions against 1,800 individuals and entities linked to Russia's aggression against Ukraine for a further six months

The European Union decided to prolong the restrictive measures targeting those associated with Russia's war against Ukraine until March 15, 2024.

This was reported by the press service of the European Commission.

"The existing restrictive measures provide for travel restrictions for natural persons, the freezing of assets, and a ban on making funds or other economic resources available to the listed individuals and entities," the statement said.

At the same time, four Russians have been removed from last year's list, but their names have not yet been released.

Earlier, Reuters reported that Russian businessman Grigory Berezkin, billionaire Farhad Akhmedov and former head of the Russian company Ozon Aleksandr Shulgin could be removed from the list.

It will be recalled that the EU has imposed sanctions on six "officials" accused of persecuting Ukrainian journalist Vladyslav Yesypenko in the temporarily occupied Qirim.
