EU imposes sanctions on six "officials" in temporarily occupied Qırım
The European Union has imposed new restrictions on six "officials" in the temporarily occupied Qırım.
The EU press service reported this.
The list of sanctioned persons includes:
- Elena Podolnaya, deputy prosecutor of the "Simferopol District Court";
- Denis Korovin, an employee of the Russian Federal Security Service;
- Dliaver Berberov, a judge of the "Simferopol District Court";
- Vitaliy Vlasov, FSB investigator;
- Viktor Krapko, a judge of the "Supreme Court" of the temporarily occupied Crimea;
- Anastasia Supryaga, a "prosecutor."
They are accused of prosecuting Ukrainian journalist Vladyslav Yesypenko.
"The Union is concerned about the continuing deterioration of the human rights situation in the Crimean peninsula, notably in the context of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine," the statement said.
Vladyslav Yesypenko, a journalist of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Crimea. Realities, was detained on March 10, 2021, in temporarily occupied Qırım. He was accused of allegedly having "ties to the Ukrainian special services" and sentenced to five years in prison.
