EU Council extends sanctions against Belarus for a year
This is evidenced by a document in the official journal of the European Union.
"On the basis of a review of the decision and considering the persistent gravity of the situation in Belarus and the involvement of Belarus in the illegal aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, it is appropriate to maintain in force all the measures adopted by the Union. Consequently, the decision should be renewed until 28 February 2024," the EU Council decided.
In addition, 21 natural and two legal persons were added to the list of sanctioned persons.
The restrictive measures include an EU entry ban and an asset freeze for the individuals on the list. EU individuals and legal entities are also prohibited from providing funds to the individuals on the list.
