During the occupation, museum workers in Izium, the Kharkiv region, saved the 300-year-old Gospel, published by Hetman Ivan Mazepa
Dina Lystopad, a research associate of the museum, told Suspilne about this.
Together with her colleagues from the local history museum in Izium, she hid valuable exhibits of the museum, in particular, the Gospel in silver and gold plating from 1707.
For the Russians not to find it, the museum workers put a book that slightly resembled the Gospel in the display cabinet.
It is currently in a storage facility under military protection.
