Deported mother and her baby son return to Ukraine from Russia
A family has returned to Ukraine from Russian deportation: a mother and a toddler son. They lived in the Kharkiv region, and the Russians deported them to the Voronezh region.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets.
The illegally deported family appealed to the Ombudsman's Office back in May with a request to help them return to Ukraine.
Before the outbreak of the full-scale war, the family lived in Lyptsi, Kharkiv region. They were deported to Russia on March 16 last year.
Despite having all the necessary documents, the mother and her baby son were repeatedly stopped at the border by the Russian side.
The family managed to return on June 18. They are now in Kharkiv.
