Denmark, Finland and Norway join boycott against UEFA's decision to return Russian teams to U-17 competitions

The teams of Denmark, Finland and Norway also refuse to play with the Russians in U-17 football competitions in view of UEFA's permission for the Russian team.

This was reported by the press services of the football federations of Denmark, Finland and Norway.

"We will not see a Danish national team compete against a Russian national team - regardless of age," said Jakob Høyer, Head of Communications at the Danish Football Union.

"Our previous decision remains in force: the Finnish national teams will not play against Russia and Belarus in any age group for the time being," Finland said in a statement.

"We stand by our position that Norwegian teams should not play against Russian teams as long as the war is ongoing. This is an attitude the whole of Norwegian sport stands united in solidarity with Ukraine," the Norwegian Football Association said.

It will be recalled that UEFA has allowed Russian teams under the age of 17 to participate in official international competitions. Poland, Latvia, Sweden and Lithuania already opposed the decision.
