Death toll from Kakhovka HPP explosion rises to 18

The death toll from the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant in the Kherson region has risen to 18.

Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko, announced this.

14 people died as a result of drowning, and 4 more died of gunshot wounds during the evacuation.

31 residents of the Kherson region are still missing. A total of 3773 people and 284 animals were evacuated from the region.

39 settlements and 818 houses are still flooded.
