"Courts" in temporarily occupied Crimea sentenced Crimean activists and civilian journalists to 13 — 14 years in prison

We are talking about Enver Ametov and Yashar Muedinov, sentenced to 13 years in prison. Civilian journalists Ruslan Suleymanov, Rustem Sheikhaliyev and Osman Arifmemetov - up to 14 years.

On March 27, 2019, mass searches in the houses of the Crimean Tatars took place in the temporarily occupied by Russia Crimea.

In total, 25 people were under investigation. Almost all of them are civil journalists or activists.

The defender of political prisoners, Lilya Gemeji, drew the court's attention to numerous violations of the so-called "investigation", but her petition was not satisfied.

In particular, despite significant health problems, Suleymanov, Sheikhaliyev and Muedinov were not put under "house arrest".

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly condemns the shameful verdicts of the occupation authorities in Crimea, passed on Ukrainian civilian journalists Osman Arifmemetov, Ruslan Suleymanov and Rustem Sheikhaliyev, as well as activists - Yashar Muedinov and Enver Ametov", - the Foreign Ministry said.
