British intelligence: attack on Soltsy-2 Airbase was carried out from Russian territory

The UK Ministry of Defence claims that the attack on the Soltsy-2 Airbase in the Novgorod region was carried out from Russian territory.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defence.
The airbase was allegedly attacked by a copter-style uncrewed aerial vehicle.
"Copter UAVs are unlikely to have the range to reach Soltsy-2 from outside Russia," the UK Ministry of Defence explains.
Joseph Dempsey, a research fellow at the International Institute for Strategic Studies, published satellite images from Planet showing damage to one of the Tu-22M3 aircraft.
"The remaining Tu-22M3s were redeployed after the alleged attack," Dempsey added.
It will be recalled that on August 19, 2023, the Russian Ministry of Defence announced an alleged drone attack on a military airbase in the Novgorod region.
