At night, Russians attacked Kaniv and Dnister hydroelectric power stations in Ukraine
Ukraine, (Svidomi) — On the night of March 29, Russians attacked the Kaniv and Dnister hydroelectric power plants, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The Kaniv HPP is located in Kaniv, Cherkasy region, in the centre of Ukraine. The Dnister HPP is located in Novodnistrovsk, Chernivtsi region, southwest of Ukraine. It is 30 km from the border with Moldova.
"The terrorist country wants a repeat of the environmental disaster in the Kherson region [after the explosion of the Kakhovka HPP in June 2023]. But now not only Ukraine but also Moldova is under threat. The water will not stop before the border pillars, and neither will the Russian war unless we stop it in Ukraine together and in time," Zelenskyy said.
On March 22, Russians attacked the Dnipro hydroelectric power station in Zaporizhzhia. Svidomi told more about this in the explainer of the situation.
