At night, a drone allegedly attacked an oil refinery in St. Petersburg, Russia

St. Petersburg, Russia (Svidomi) — Aleksandr Beglov, the governor of the Russian city of St. Petersburg, has reported an "incident" in an industrial zone in the city's Nevsky district.

Local media outlet Fontanka reports that Russian air defence allegedly shot down a drone that crashed on the territory of the Nevsky Mazut plant.

Locals heard an explosion on the night of January 31. According to Fontanka media, the drone was shot down at 04:20 (local time) over Kolpino, a suburb of St Petersburg. However, the drone continued to fly and crashed only half an hour later on the territory of a factory on Glukhoozerskoye Highway. Preliminarily, empty fuel tanks allegedly caught fire.

According to Russian governor Beglov, there were no casualties or "significant damage" to the enterprise's property.

Russian media also reported that the Pulkovo airport stopped reception and departure of flights from around 3 am to 5 am.

The Ukrainian side has not officially commented on the events.
