At least 623 killed in earthquake in Morocco on September 8

A powerful earthquake has struck Morocco. At least 623 people died.
This was reported by Moroccan state television, Aljazeera reports.
329 people were injured. The core of the earthquake was the al-Haouz region in southwest Morocco.
The head of the National Institute of Geophysics of Morocco said that the earthquake was "the strongest in the country in the last century".
Many historic buildings collapsed in the old part of Marrakesh, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Among others, Israel has already offered to help, sending a team of rescuers, and France stands ready to help with first aid.
