At least 30% of water samples in the Dnipro and the Black Sea do not meet standards

The Ministry of Health has taken samples of surface water bodies and recreational areas. At least 30% of them do not meet the standards (185 out of 579 samples).

The Ministry of Health reported this.

In the water bodies of the Kherson, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions, some indicators significantly surpass the established hygiene and sanitary norms.

The Odesa region is currently under the greatest threat, with the most significant and persistent exceedances of sanitary-chemical, microbiological, and toxicological indicators.

"According to the results of daily monitoring, experts record significant microbial contamination of surface water bodies, including the Black Sea and the Dnipro River and its riverbed. The most significant deviations from the safety indicators according to virological, microbiological, and parasitological studies were recorded in the Odesa region," said Ihor Kuzin, Chief State Sanitary Doctor.
