Another Russian spy detained in Poland

A man accused of spying for Russia has been detained in Poland. He arrived in the country in January 2023.

According to the investigation, the man collected and passed on information to the Russians about the activities of Polish special services and critical infrastructure in the Pomorskie and Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeships.

The spokesperson for the Gdańsk District Prosecutor's Office, Grażyna Wawryniuk, said that the foreigner was detained last Tuesday. The man has already been temporarily arrested for 3 months. He faces up to 10 years in prison.

During interrogation, the detainee confessed to espionage activities. He also described the circumstances of his recruitment by Russian intelligence.
