An explosion occurs in a five-storey building in St. Petersburg, Russia, allegedly caused by the fall of drone debris

St Petersburg, Russia (Svidomi) — In the Russian city of St. Petersburg, an explosion has occurred in a five-storey building due to the fall of drone debris, Russian media outlet Fontanka.ru reports.

St Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov said that no one died in the explosion. The windows of the buildings were partially damaged. Residents of the affected apartments were evacuated.

"Fontanka.ru writes that the drone could have been flying to the Ruchey oil depot, located less than a kilometre away. The company allegedly has jammers installed.

Russian police officers with anti-drone guns are on duty at the site of the drone crash.

The Russian propaganda media outlet TASS reports that six people turned for medical assistance and a 92-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital due to the stress.

It will be recalled that, on the night of February 24, explosions occurred at the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant in Russia resulting in a fire.
