A shooting took place in a building of Charles University in the capital of the Czech Republic, Prague
In the Czech Republic, an unknown person opened fire at one of the faculties of Charles University in Prague.
Local police reported this.
As of 19:00 (Prague time), 15 people were killed, and 24 others were injured. At least nine of the victims are in serious condition.
Photos of blocked classroom doors and students on the roof appeared on social media. Young people were trying to hide from the shooter.
According to the police, the gunman was killed.
There are no signs that the killer had accomplices or that it was a terrorist attack.
Czech President Petr Pavel reacted to the incident.
"I would like to express my deepest regret and sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the shooting. I would like to thank the citizens for respecting the instructions of law enforcement and for their maximum cooperation," the Czech president wrote.
