A Russian mine exploded near the turbine room of Unit 4 at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant

The National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine "Energoatom" reports this.

"According to sources, an explosion occurred near the turbine room of Unit 4. The nuclear terrorists [Russians] say their mine has detonated," the statement says.

According to Energoatom, Ukrainian nuclear workers who continue to work at Zaporizhzhia NPP heard the sounds of the explosion.

The Russians tried to hide the traces of the explosion so that the International Atomic Energy Agency experts would not see it.

"Europe's largest nuclear facility keeps suffering from the abuse of the Russian military and their supporters, while Ukrainian workers are desperately trying to preserve the nuclear and radiation safety of the entire continent," Energoatom writes.

It will be recalled that on March 29, IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi visited the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP and said that the plant "will not be turned into a military base".

Zaporizhzhia NPP is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, which has been under Russian temporary occupation since March 2022.
