94 countries voted “for,” 14 countries voted “against,” and 73 countries abstained.
Among the countries that voted “against” were Russia, Belarus, Syria, Iran, Zimbabwe, Cuba, Eritrea, and China.
This procedure provides for the assignment of reparations of the Russian Federation in favor of Ukraine. The document also contains recognition by the UN countries of the need to create an international mechanism for compensation for damages caused to Ukraine as a result of the Russian aggression and recommendations to states regarding the creation of an international register of damages.
