25,000 civilians are held in Russian captivity — Lubinets

Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, said that 25,000 Ukrainian civilian hostages are being held in Russian captivity.

ZMINA writes about this, citing Lubinets.

During the war, 2,576 Ukrainian citizens were returned to Ukraine, including 144 civilians.

The Commissioner's Office constantly deals with this and officially records cases of torture. The Ombudsman appealed to international institutions to help in the speedy return of civilian hostages.

"The return of some of our citizens is possible thanks to cooperation with civil society. I want to thank everyone working in this direction," Zmina quoted Lubinets as saying.
