The lower house of the US Congress demands that Biden explain the negotiations with Yermak
Victoria Spartz, a member of the House of Representatives, addressed the President of the United States with a letter in which she asks for information about the supervision procedures during the negotiations with the head of the OP Andriy Yermak.
In addition, Spartz drew attention to the fact that Yermak appointed Oleg Tatarov as his deputy from law enforcement agencies to fight corruption, who instead has been delaying the appointment of an independent anti-corruption prosecutor for over a year, which led to the incapacity of the specialized anti-corruption prosecutor's office and National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. The official also emphasizes that Tatarov, having a high position in the police, persecuted Euromaidan participants.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reacted to the statement. The spokesman of the ministry, Oleh Nikolenko, noted that such statements are "an undisguised attempt to return to American politics the classic narratives of Russian propaganda about the supposed ties of the leadership of Ukraine with Russia."
