108 Azovstal defenders have been released from captivity
This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to the Chief of Staff Andriy Yermak, a total of 215 fighters have been released.
Commander of Azov regiment Denys "Redys" Prokopenko and his deputy Svyatoslav "Kalyna" Palamar are free now.
A paramedic of the medical battalion "Hospitallers" Kateryna "Ptashka" Polishchuk, head of the Mariupol police Mykhailo Vershinin and senior sergeant of the 36th brigade, contract soldier Mykhailo "Pianist" Dianov have been released too.
Mariana Mamonova, a pregnant military medic who was kept in captivity, has also been returned.
Among the liberated is Dmytro "Orest" Kozatskyi - head of the Azov press service. He is the author of the most famous photo report from Azovstal.
The exchange of prisoners took place in Chernihiv region. The POWs were delivered from the territory of Belarus.
Ukraine has exchanged a pro-Russian oligarch Viktor Medvechuk.
