"Until the complete victory over Russian imperialism" — Latvia to continue military support for Ukraine

Latvia has announced a new military aid package for Ukraine, including howitzers, artillery shells and anti-tank weapons.

President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs said this at a joint briefing with Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his visit to Riga.

Rinkēvičs added that his country would continue to support Ukraine "as long as necessary". The amount of assistance already provided has exceeded 1% of Latvia's GDP.

Ukraine and Latvia will sign a memorandum on the joint production of drones and an agreement on the reconstruction of Ukraine, particularly the Chernihiv region, which borders Belarus and Russia in the north.

In addition, Latvia wants to transfer funds from the so-called Moscow House in Riga and other Russian assets to help Ukraine.

It will be recalled that Estonia announced a €1.2 billion long-term assistance package for Ukraine until 2027.

More than that, Lithuania announced a €200 million long-term assistance package for Ukraine.
