Lithuania announces EUR 200 million long-term assistance package for Ukraine
Lithuania will provide EUR 200 million in long-term assistance to Ukraine.
This was announced by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda during a press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart.
Lithuania and Ukraine signed an agreement on defence industry cooperation. The country is mobilising a coalition to clear mines in Ukraine and continues to support Ukraine's membership of NATO.
"In January, we will again send ammunition, generators, detonation systems, and in February - M-577 armoured personnel carriers. We will train Ukrainian soldiers and strengthen cooperation in the defence industry," President Nausėda added.
As a reminder, Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Vilnius on January 10 for a working visit. The Ukrainian President will also visit Estonia and Latvia. This will be Zelenskyy's first foreign visit in 2024.
