Estonia announces €1.2 billion long-term assistance package for Ukraine until 2027

Estonia will allocate 1.2 billion euros of assistance to Ukraine until 2027.

This was announced by President of Estonia Alar Karis at a joint press conference with Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his visit to the capital, Tallinn.

"Ukraine needs more and better weapons. The capacity of the EU's military industry must be increased so that Ukraine gets what it needs, not tomorrow, but today. We should not have any restrictions on the supply of arms to Ukraine," Karis said.

During his visit to Estonia, the President of Ukraine also met with the Prime Minister of Estonia, Kaja Kallas.

"Freedom must be better armed than tyranny. That is why Estonia has decided to provide long-term support: 0.25% of our GDP, a transfer over the next four years. This money will go to Ukraine as military aid," said Estonian Prime Minister Kallas.

On the evening of January 11, Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Riga, Latvia.

It will be recalled that Lithuania announced a €200 million long-term assistance package for Ukraine.
