The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine confirmed the detention of Vasyl Lozynskyi, First Deputy Minister of Community, Territories, and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine
On January 21, the anti-corruption bureau caught Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Vasyl Lozynskyi taking a $400,000 bribe. According to the investigation, he facilitated the purchase of equipment at inflated prices.
In the summer, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated ₴1.6 billion to purchase equipment to provide alternative sources of light, heat, and water supply.
Law enforcement officials believe that a group of civil servants decided to embezzle part of the funds. Having colluded with the suppliers, they raised the prices of the equipment by ₴280 million.
National Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted a series of searches at the entrepreneurs' houses and found ₴920,000 and $38,000.
On the night of the 22nd of January, law enforcement officers detained Lozynskyi's alleged accomplice, who was trying to leave Ukraine.
